SA Agulhas II 2016 Tristan arrival trip update

from Cynthia Green and Dawn Repetto

SA Agulhas II arrived at Tristan on Wednesday 7th September 2016 at first light. On a lovely calm sunny day offloading started about 08.00 and passenger helicopter flights started at 09.00, with all safely ashore by about 12.00 on six flights. The 7th flight brought in a weather team with buoys to do some work at the weather station by the hospital. It is hoped to finish the offloading in one day so the Agulhas can leave for Gough Island. The influx (see passenger list below) means there are now 304 people on Tristan, but of these a small party will join the Agulhas II trip to Gough.

Dawn added that 'It was lovely to see all the returning islanders and to welcome all the visitors.'
