MV Edinburgh August-October Trip Update
MV Edinburgh departed Cape Town at 21.00 on Friday 19th August and arrived at Tristan at about 13:30 GM on Saturday 27th August 2016. Weather wasn't suitable for unloading but they did manage to get passengers and luggage ashore by one of the rafts.
Incoming passengers were islanders - Desmond, Donna, Calvin & Hannah Green, Ken & Judy Green, and Gladys Lavarello; Administrator Alex Mitham and his wife & Hasene, Science Teacher Mark Pearson, Finance Officer David Moores, GIS Specialist Ilaria Marengo and Factory Manager Erik Mackenzie.
This trip is the first extended fishing trip of the 2016-2017 fishing season which officially started on Tristan on 1st July. The vessel will depart for fishing grounds off Nightingale, Inaccessible and Gough Islands after unloading and is expected to depart Tristan on 11th October.
