The Annual Gathering will be held on Saturday 22nd April 2017 at the Grand Harbour Hotel, West Quay Rd, Southampton, SO15 1AG, UK. Please note the venue has moved from the Holiday Inn over the road. |
Programme
To be held in the Standish, Winslow and Bradford suite of rooms on the first floor of the Grand Harbour Hotel.

10:30 - Morning parallel activities

12:30 - Lunch for ticket holders in the Mayflower Suite
14:00 - Afternoon session
- Short annual general meeting
- Talk on the Enviroearth scientific station on Tristan, by Marc Escudier (above)

c.16:00 - Raffle draw, and charity auction in aid of the Tristan Education Trust Fund
19.00 for 19.30 - Evening Dinner Dance - Meet in the first floor bar
- Two course buffet-style dinner
- Traditional Tristan dances to live authentic music from Peter Millington and Mike Faulds
- Disco dancing until 23:30

Cindy Buxton & Jim Kerr, 1990, 46 min, Colour , Sound. A 'slow cinema' trip around the island and up the peak, visiting parts of the island that most tourists and many islanders never see.
11.00 - Trailers from the 'Pristine Seas' expedition to Tristan
RSPB, National Geographic & Tristan Government, 2017, c.8 min. Colour, Sound. Two trailers of footage shot on this year's expedition to the Tristan group, including a short introduction from the RSPB team members about the expedition and plans for a full length film.
11.15 - Tristan Memories
Chris Carnegy 2015, 45 min, Colour, Sound. Four short films of interview of old Tristan life with: Harold Green, Gladys Lavarello, Andrew Glass, and Joyce Hagen. Introduced by Chris Carnegy.
Tickets
£30 per person for the day * (including two course buffet lunch, coffee, tea and refreshments).
* There are special rates for Tristan islanders, to encourage attendance. See the order form for details.
£25 for the Dinner Dance (or £5 for the dance only).

Tickets will be available at our reception desk, and unless requested no receipts are issued.

If required, overnight accommodation must be booked separately.
This year's gathering is just over the road from our usual venue, the Holiday Inn. Members who have already booked rooms at the Holiday Inn do not need to change their arrangements unless they prefer to. New guests may wish to choose between the Holiday Inn, for which we have secured a special package price, or the Grand Harbour Hotel at its normal rates.
People arriving on Friday will still be meeting up in the Holiday Inn restaurant for dinner and drinks.
