One of the specialists that the SA Agulhas II brought to Tristan on her 2025 annual visit was dentist Penny Granger. Working with the team of local dental team, she checked and if necessary treated all the islanders' during her visit. The shortened visits meant that Penny and the team had to work especially hard this time, although there was time on the 7th October to celebrate the retirement of Teresa Green, who has been the island’s dental nurse for many years. It was a warm and friendly afternoon with homemade treats and juice.

"Ladies, Gentlemen and Colleagues.
Today we gather to celebrate a very special work colleague on her retirement.
Teresa we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey you have had with us. Your commitment, your passion and unwavering dedication have set a high standard for all of us who have had the privilege of working alongside you. Especially Michelle and Conchita. Your expertise has been invaluable, your insights profound and your sense of humour will always be cherished.
The work you have done for the Dental Department and serving the community has left the most lasting impact. You have been a mentor; a friend and a guiding light to so many here.
Therefore, Teresa we sincerely thank you. Thank you for your years of service from Nursing, Dentistry, and assisting the surgeons in theatre and all you have done during your time working in the Medical Department. We all wish you a very happy and blessed retirement.
