Important Advice to people sending mail to Tristan da Cunha
From Administrator Alex Mitham on 23rd January 2015

We regret that there have been a series of problems with Tristan-bound mail during transit in South Africa. As a result the Tristan da Cunha Government advises clients to check first with the Tristan da Cunha Post Office when sending items of value, including presents as we cannot guarantee they will arrive intact.

In any case we always advise that payments can be made using PayPal, or to to the island's Crown Agents bank account in London as shown on the Post Office (Post Office Payments) and Handicrafts and Souvenirs (Handicraft Payments) website payment pages. This offers clients speed as well as security and orders can then be dispatched on the next sailing.
