Shirley Squibb is raising money for cancer research by shaving off her luxuriant hair and donating it to the Little Princess Trust.

Shirley's Charity Hair Cut

An appeal from Shirley Squibb

I have been wanting to do something good for a long time now, and after seeing what happiness the Little Princess Trust brings to children with their wigs, I knew that that was something I could do.  I have very long hair and with grey starting to appear I thought that donating it before turning forty would be a good idea.

Over the years I have had friends and family that have been affected by cancer. They have all bravely fought, some have won, some still live with the impact it has had on them, and some sadly did not win the battle. So why stop at just cutting my hair off? Instead, I thought I would do a sponsored head shave to support all those brave people, and raise money to donate towards Cancer Research UK.

The challenge will take place on Thursday 4th October 2018 in the afternoon at the Post and Tourism Centre. Shirley's cousin Mel Young, who is currently visiting Tristan, will be cutting the hair and taking it with her to the UK to give to the Little Princess Trust. Kelly Green will then be shaving Shirley's head. We will be posting "during" and "after" pictures.

Now completed, see the During and After pictures of the event, and the Final Result.
