Report and photos from Rhyanna Swain

And just like that Term 2 has come to an end and Term 3 is about to start. The students have worked extra hard over the last term producing some spectacular work along the way, and the staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that the content of work had been covered within the seven week term.

On Friday the 8th September 2023 there was lots going on in assembly. There was an awards ceremony to present prizes to the students who had received the most awards, to present the shield to the top house that had received the most house points, to award the Peter Day Cup to a student who worked extra hard, to present Miss Kaitlyn with a certificate for passing her history exam, and Classes 1, 2, 3 and 4 were given a certificate of achievement for "tasty perfection" in their cookery lessons.

Prizes for awards went to the following:

  • Playgroup- Noah Swain
  • Class 1- Jessie Squibb
  • Class 2- Sophie Swain
  • Class 3- Kailey Swain
  • Class 4- Katie Repetto
  • Class 5- Calvin Green
  • Peter Day Cup - Rossilin Behrens
  • Shield for Top House - Inaccessible, Captain: Calvin Green

Despite all the happy moments it was also a sad day saying goodbye to Miss Lucy (Lucy Scott-Kellermeier, Doctor's wife). Miss Lucy has been helping out in the school since her arrival in May. She has been helping children with their reading and helping out in Playgroup and Class 1. In assembly Miss Lucy was given a card and a poem thanking her for all her help and hard work. We wish Miss Lucy well and hope to see her in the not too distant future.

Term 3 is going to be a busy term for both the teachers and the students. We will be getting ready for the end of year concert and preparing the students who will be moving up classes. We hope everyone has enjoyed their two weeks holiday, and as we welcome the students back we look forward to seeing what the next term will bring.
