Prize giving before September 2024 holiday

End of Term Report from St Mary's School

Report from Rhyanna Swain

The second school term of 2024 has now come to an end. The children have worked spectacularly hard this term, producing some incredible work and revising hard for their end of term tests. St Mary's School closes today for two weeks holiday with the students returning on the 17th September 2024 and the teachers returning on 16th for an INSET day. After the holidays we will welcome back Head Teacher Mr Peter Foster after being off island for a while.

There was an assembly on Friday 30th August - the last day of term - to present the children with prizes for most awards, the cup for endeavour awarded to a student for working especially hard throughout this term, despite him being off island for some time, and the shield was awarded to the top house for receiving the most house points for this term.

Term 3 is going to be a very busy term for the students and teachers. We will be preparing for the school concert that takes place at the end of the year. The students will be learning new topics set for the term and will be revising again for their end of year SAT tests. We hope the children and teachers enjoy their fortnight's holiday and look forward to seeing what Term 3 will bring.
