Departure from Tristan da Cunha

Having returned from Gough Island, the SA Agulhas II sailed for Cape Town in the evening of the 13th October 2021. Passenger list as follows:

Islanders: Barbara & Clive Glass, Paul, Geraldine & Katie Repetto, Patrick & Denise Rogers;

Officials: Alexander Mclean (Dental Technician), Priscilla Brown (Optometrist), Nhlanhla Sibiya (Crane Technician), Andy & Luke Schofield (RSPB), Dr. Alex & Sally Wonner, Penny & Elika Granger, Dr. Silvio Morales, and Helene Jaumotte;

Arrival at Tristan

The SA Agulhas II arrived off Tristan in the early hours of Tuesday 21st September 2021, but a 6 metre swell prevented passengers from disembarking until the 22nd September, when conditions had improved enough to permit landing by helicopter. The ship then continued on to Gough Island and will return in due course to unload cargo.

The SA Agulhas II departed Cape Town for Tristan da Cunha on the evening of Wednesday 15th September 2021 at the start of it's annual voyage to relieve the meteorological team on Gough Island.
