The Tristan da Cunha community is proud of its British heritage. Tristan homes commonly feature portraits of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the annual Queen's Day public holiday is always a special event with a range of activities to celebrate the Queen's birthday. The Tristan da Cunha Queen's Day is held in February or March to enable a produce show to be held in the austral late Summer / Early Autumn. It features a loyal toast to Her Majesty at the evening Reception. |

Queen's Day 2018
Report from Shirley Squibb and photos by Dawn Repetto
On Sunday 12th March 2018, we celebrated Queen's Day, which this year coincided with Commonwealth Day, so the Commonwealth flag was flown with Tristan's flag. The day began a bit dull, but by midday the sun was shining.

Children enjoyed the face painting.
