Tristan represented at Virtual Island Summit
Report from Tristan Government UK Representative Chris Carnegy
The South Atlantic came into focus during a worldwide virtual meeting that studied issues and opportunities for island communities.
The 'Virtual Island Summit' brought together local politicians, environmentalists and policy experts for a week of online presentations and discussions.
On 11th September, the team from the South Atlantic Environmental Research Institute (SAERI) led a session titled Innovation and Sustanable Development in the South Atlantic.
In her opening remarks, SAERI's Tara Pelembe highlighted the Natural Capital Conference held on St Helena in 2019. Tristan's UK Representative Chris Carnegy, who deputised for Chief Islander James Glass at that event, is shown in Tara's picture.
