Job Advert: Five Teachers

The Government of Tristan da Cunha is advertising for no less than five teachers to work in St Mary's School. Adverts are in the Times Education Supplement and we provide brief details below with links to the TES page:

Post 1: Primary Teacher

We need an enthusiastic primary teacher, with a minimum of two years’ UK teaching experience and a passion for learning. A very good knowledge of UK curriculum and current best practice is essential; and experience in teaching or coordinating numeracy would be an advantage.
The ability to work successfully with the other staff and community is essential. Our six teachers are well trained (though not qualified) with many having benefited from training in the UK. This means the knowledge and experience you bring will have a big impact on our teachers and students.
Your outstanding interpersonal skills and openness to adventure, will help you to integrate and adapt to living in such a remote location.
We are looking for a primary school teacher, but this role may suit a couple.
Up to two year full time contract starting in Autumn 2015 or March 2016
