On Friday 5th May 2017, Marina Burns invited all the island children for a belated Easter Egg Hunt at the Administrator's Residence. It ended up being a little late due to Tristan weather getting in the way of previous attempts.

Firstly, the children had to hunt out the "eggs" (foil covered potatoes that looked like eggs)  which they then traded in for a chocolate surprise. For those of you who have lived on Tristan, you'll know that sometimes eggs are as rare as hen's teeth due to broody chickens not laying.

After that, the children competed in the Potato and Spoon race up and down the lawn. The Crèche took part too with siblings and older children helping the very young children. Everyone enjoyed rolling their eggs down the hill and later seeing who could throw their egg the furthest.

After lots of eating chocolate and some yummy fruit juice, the children played Stuck in the Mud.

All the children had a lovely time and wanted to say a big thank you to Marina for hosting and organising the event, Miss Hilary, Miss Mandy, Miss Kate and Mr Len for helping out and especially Jane at Richard James Shipping and Doctor Carl for donating the chocolate prizes.
